The Global RegTech Benchmarking Study
This study is being conducted by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. It builds upon the reputation of the CCAF’s high impact research into the FinTech industry since 2013 which is all publicly available here. This research is sponsored by the generous support of EY Japan.
The objective of this survey is to explore and examine the RegTech industry globally, to systematically review existing and emerging business models, prevailing technologies, target clients and industries, investment activity as well as the turnover, years trading & headcount of organisations in the industry.
Findings from this important industry tracking survey will provide headline industry figures for a high-profile inaugural Global RegTech Industry Benchmarking Report, which is due to be published in May 2019. The report itself will be disseminated freely to governmental departments, financial regulators, industrial trade associations and major media outlets to inform policy-makers and raise public awareness of RegTech globally.
Target firms to be included in this research broadly include those adopting and applying innovative technologies to facilitate the delivery of regulatory requirements and services to individual consumers, businesses as well as governments, regulators and other related entities.
This study seeks to establish a working taxonomy of RegTech business models, contributing to a better understanding of the global RegTech market dynamics, its disruptive potential to traditional service providers (e.g. law firms, accountancies and regulatory consultancies), and opportunities for offering technology-enabled new services and products.
Focusing on the RegTech sector, this tracking survey aims to gather aggregate-level industry data only. The survey should take no more than 30 minutes to complete.
